about corenutrition

“You are what you eat” is a common adage, heard frequently in today’s society of growing obesity, allergies and environment-related illnesses. To be more accurate, we are what we digest and absorb through our diet!

Rebalancing the body

Nutritional Therapy can help to improve your health, energy and vitality by encouraging the body to heal and nourish itself. Eating healthy foods – and avoiding not-so-healthy ones – can help rebalance your body’s systems. Arthritis, IBS, fatigue and PMS are just some of the conditions that can be helped by Nutritional Therapy. This holistic approach can also ease you through the menopause and help you achieve a healthy weight in a healthy way. For a more comprehensive list of conditions see benefits.

Holistic approach

Nutritional Therapy is a holistic approach to health and is not a ‘quick fix’. However, with your commitment, very positive changes can be made and you will normally see real results in two or three months. As a trained Pilates instructor, Penny brings her knowledge of the musculo-skeletal system to bear when working with certain nutritional conditions. For example, Irritable Bowel Syndrome can be exacerbated by muscle imbalances and / or postural problems. Working with these imbalances, alongside dietary and nutritional therapy, can bring positive results. Conversely, a chronic back problem can be treated with diet and nutrition to lower pain and inflammation, alongside regular Pilates exercises to strengthen the abdominals and release tight back muscles. See benefits for more information on back pain and nutrition.

Testing

Diagnostic testing may be recommended in certain cases. For example, with IBS-type symptoms a stool test may be beneficial. For irregular periods or infertility a hormone-panel test may be recommended. Other tests that can help to determine your nutritional requirements include food allergy or food intolerance, cardiovascular profile, thyroid testing, osteoporosis risk, adrenal test and hair mineral analysis.

“After suffering for a couple of years with a bloated and sometimes painful stomach, I decided to visit Penny to see if a diet could rectify my symptoms.  Amazingly I have been symptom free since the day I saw Penny and it was all down to her reviewing my diet and lifestyle and making the necessary changes.  I cannot thank her enough for her invaluable advice as it has changed my life back to the way it was a few years ago.”  Paul L, South Wonston, Hampshire
